Joseph Hand is a Senyan educator, who famously served as the High Inquisitor (headmaster) of the School of the High Inquisitor of Tiegang in the International Mandate for 40 years between 1691 and 1731. Born in Eprat in 1656, Hand graduated from the University of Svorgas in 1677, and worked as a High School teacher until 1684. He was then selected to work as an inspector for the Senyan government's department of education, often assisting struggling schools. In 1687, he moved to Tiegang to assist establishing the curriculum of the new School of the High Inquisitor of Tiegang, before being appointed the formal High Inquisitor in 1691, becoming the school's first such official.

He married his wife Sandra in 1686, who gave birth to their son Elrond in 1689 and daughter Jazz in 1693. Both children went on to be educated at the school.

He retired from the position in 1731 at the age of 75, passing over his position to Alexis Jakes, citing his old age as a reason. After his retirement, he moved to Lamantia, residing in the lakeside town of Redditch.
