Davinson Islands or The Davinsons as called by the Dauians, officially Republic of the Davinson Islands is an independent island country and microstate located off the northeastern coast of Çakari Taka'atui. The country's population of 68,801 people is spread out over 7 main islands and 23 atolls. The country's capital is the largest island, Tuan, which is also its largest city. The Davinson Islands also has the largest portion of its territory composed of water of any sovereign state, at 97.87%. The islands are one of the most remote regions on Micras and have only one sole airport on the island, the Tuan International Airport.

The country was founded based on the Dauian laws and basis of society, making the country the sole other non-Dauian incorporated region which speaks Dauian and Yewlang whilst having its legal system based on the old Dauian legal system. The Davinson Islands are now mainly made up of local Davinsonese whilst having a rather minor population of Dauian immigrants.

Etymology

The islands are named after the person who explored the islands, Jami Davinson who set off in 1609 and never returned to Daau as he remained at the islands for the rest of his life.

History

In 1609, the then newly freed Daau would send off Jami Davinson to find new land for them to conquer and possibly colonize for Daau. He would set sail on the 6th of September in 1609 to help Daau gain land for the future. Jami's voyage would take over 9 months to arrive. As the islands were the first thing Jami saw in sight and saw how big the group of islands was, he declared that his voyage would stop there and this would be his biggest project ever.

Davinson would land in Shore Sandy, modern-day Sandy Beach, west of the Mountain Tuan. Along with his team and a group of explorers. The group would set up their camp further inland whilst exploring the surrounding areas. He would name the island Tuan as it means Luck in Matabese. Following the successful exploration of the outer islands which were found to be uninhabited, the team would plant Dauian flags on the shore. They would set sail to T'awtai Island next in hopes of expanding the region. Only Tuan and T'awtai were described as livable.

Tuan was found to be the home of the Awtese, the original tribesmen who lived on the island. Jami and his team would live and explore with them and would slowly learn more about the island whilst making new friends. Jami also married a local Awtese woman. Davinson would remain on the island till the end of his life as others set sail to return.

Jami sent a group of returnees from the exploration to inform Daau of the success of exploration and they would arrived in 1610 and were crowned as local heroes following their return from their exploration, current Daau international Jensen Roland's great grandfather was a part of those that returned. Daau would send a small group of people to set up the Dauian control and a local government in 1623. The project was declared successful as the locals understood how it worked and slowly incorporated it into modern society. Daau would however withdraw from the island 2 years later as they deemed it too unstable to keep such a territory whilst being thousands of miles away.

The Dauian forces retreated officially 3 years after the island was found by Jami Davinson. They left a bunch of newly established buildings and managed to set up a trade route for the small island in case anything happens to them. The people there were seen in tears as the foreign forces left due to the amount of infrastructure Daau has built and done to the islands has massively improved their lifestyle. The local tribe honored the departing men by dancing and holding a bonfire party prior to the departure. This has been a tradition since then and it has been celebrated every year as the independence day of the islands.

In 2022, James Valt would win the nationwide election, beating former President Kenedy Mooresail in a landslide.

Geography

Davinson Islands are a group of 7 islands, the biggest being Tuan, the second largest being Ma'hata and the third being T'awtai.

The islands are a result of prehistoric volcanic activity and the main island Tuan is an inactive volcano.

Climate

The islands are usually hot and humid all year with a tropical climate. Most Dauians choose to have their holidays and honeymoon here because of the low price and the good climate.

Culture

Sports

Davinson Islands has a wide range of sports, mainly football as it is played widely in Daau and was introduced by the Dauians' arrival to the islanders. Rugby is also considered a main sport in the islands as the region has its very own rugby league and also its own football league, the Davinson Rugby League and the Davinson Islands A-Division for rugby and football respectively. The Davinsonese are rather not quite famous for sports due to the traditions of staying at home and doing farming work for the family. This has led to a sudden decline in Davinsonese sports players back then and has now led to the Davinson Islands falling behind in terms of sports.

The local government has launched the Davinson2024 project which aims to fully develop the local sports scene and attempt to send some local talents overseas.

Music

The islands are known for their tropical music style as a lot of artists from the islands have topped DaauBoard's 100 rankings for their Davinsonese style of melodic singing, most famously songwriter and singer Jamal "Rainbow" Jacobs. Davinson Islands are also famous for their own handmade ukuleles and guitars as they are a crucial part of their society and tradition. Rituals on the islands are usually performed with ukuleles and loud men singing in Dauian.

Defence

The Islands are under the protection of Daau due to a treaty when Daau withdrew from the region. The nation has 5 outposts under the Daau Armed Forces around the main island and all islands have at least 1 outpost. The region also has 1 main airforce base on the main island to keep the island safe from invaders and attackers. Daau also supplies the local peacekeeping forces with Dauian firearms to hopefully bolster the region if it is ever under attack.

Economy

Fruits and vegetables

The Davinson Islands are known worldwide for their fresh fruit produce as it is known to be fresh and handpicked along with them being 100% organic and proven by the Dauian government.
