Summary: Grand Navy of Yardistan begins its trip from Mar Sara in the South to Bosworth.Impromptu Yardistani Military Command Centre, Mar Sara
Somnisday, 12th Krondokin/Wednesday, 1st Khordâd (1387)/Wednesday, 21st May
12:03PM
Benkern, Duke of Yardistan, sighed. It always ended up this way. War finally comes around and it's on the other side of the world. It was irritating enough that along the course of time he had ended up Count of Mar Sara, hundreds of miles away from anything Shirerithian - visits to the Landsraad were a particular annoyance - but now after he had been consigned to the furthest reaches of the Imperial Republic in the South he must now venture to the far North of Benacia, interestingly to a land neighbours with another Yardistani County, that of Western Absentia.
It couldn't be helped. Some nations just ask for a smack. Of course, Benkern would have preferred if it was someone more geographically convenient - perhaps those Alex-and-Ria guys whose colonists were always sailing past his island - but the Kaiser and the MoMA and pretty much anyone who has a say in anything has decided that it must be war with Bosworth, so war with Bosworth it must be.
Mobilisation had been quick and efficient thanks to a very Yardistani initiative started by his predecessors. Now all that was left to do was issue the orders and watch as the nations of the world collapse before the highly co-ordinated and rather strangely smelling military might of Shireroth. Christ! he knew he'd forgotten something. The orders!
"Erm, you there, uh... Lieutenant?" Benkern guessed in the direction of a military-looking person in his Command Centre. He faced the Duke and saluted. "THANKYOUSIR! To think, me, but a mere private, hand-picked by the Duke of Yardistan to receive a commission and join the ranks of Shireroth's finest offi-" "I was asking, not promoting. Did you rehearse that little speech?" The private seem slightly shocked. "Why of course sir. Around these parts that's a pretty common occurrence. It's the second thing we're taught at the YAC Military Academy - how to receive a promotion." "I... I see, well whatever. Just send" - he gave the man a list of ships - "THESE ships" - he then pointed to the North-Eastern Coast of Bosworth - "HERE. Kay?" The private saluted again and went off to give out the orders. "And make sure they're going up by Elwynn! Not the long way around those old CIS lands. That place gives me the creeps." Soon enough the grand Navy of Yardistan was headed steadily along its course to fame, glory and quite possible a fiery death.

Summary- Expeditionary forces head to Gascony and are joined by the Praetoriani Guard.Aboard HMNS Arcaviir, Off the coast of the Warring Islands
22:00
Captain George Jhode stood to attention as the king entered the ships bridge. 'Stand easy' Ordered Josephus as the crew saluted him, he turned to the captain 'You have the orders yes?'.
'Of course sir but are you sure that you wish to travel with us?' Replied the Captain.
Josephus removed the pipe from his mouth 'Captain Jhodes in the few wars I myself have fought on the front lines though admittedly I missed out on the Circum Raynor War...'
'True my lord, have the Praetoriani Guard found their quarters good enough for the trip?' The Captain said in an attempt to change the subject.
'Hmm.....Oh yes of course, actually that reminds me have you brought the supply of East Moorland's finest hash on board?' Replied Josephus
The Captain paused '........Yes my liege if memory serves me right it should be in your personal quarters!'
'Huzzah! Well I shall retire to my room for now, do call me if you have any news' Josephus saluted at the Crew members then proceeded onwards to his quarters.
Meanwhile Private Lucius Hargraves looked out towards the coast of the warring islands. The coast was lit up by the occasional burst of trigger happy locals that had realised the nation was at war. It brought him back to the fays of his childhood when he had lived in fairly war torn part of East Moorland.

Summary: Atterock Navy sail to an undisclosed location. The mustering of forces was finally finished. The Atterock Navy, created near the start of his reign by the Baron, Andreas the Wise, was finally going to see some international action. Considering the nature of the conflict, the force was a fair spread across the counties. The Cruiser and Destroyers came from Biotopia, but were crewed by the Melangians. They were a diminuitive race but perfectly at home in the sea, and so perfect to crew a ship for a long voyage. The marines were made up of a mix of ex-Pirates from Norfolk, and the swathy dark skinned men from Gong Li, from where the Helicopters also came. From Halluci came the gift of several planes, all with a lovely pine-scented, re-envisioned interior. And acompanying the Vice-Admiral Mel'Kat was the head historian, Kel'jar. The position of full Admiral was unclear - it was probably the Baron, Andreas the Wise, or the Count of Norfolk, Nick Foghornleghorn. But Nick had not been seen for sometime, and Andreas was off galavanting around Tapfer looking for some ancient treasure or some such nonsense, and so command of the fleet was left to Mel'Kat.
The fleet had assembled at Gong Li, a point best able to approach wherever they would be sent, but the troops still wanted a proper religious sending off from the Temple of the High Priest of Sakat, in Sakatra, the capital of the island of Melangia. So, via live video feed, a service was being conducted. Sakat, knowing himself to be an anthropomorphic personification that fed on belief, that historically speaking, animal sacrafices tended to put a major drop in the national economy, and of course, he was a sea diety, had long ago forbidden any burnt or animal sacrafices. Instead, the priest had poured fragrant oils into the Sacred Pool, and was now concluding the sacrafice with a bottle of red oil, a bottle of blue oil, and a bottle of darkest squid-ink. He finished the service, and cried, in a loud voice "Sakat be with you!"
"That he may record your every move, that the future generations may learn from your mistakes and make their own, more original ones," came the reply from the assembled audience. Then the video feed was done.
"Are we ready to set off then?" Mel'Kat asked his aide.
"Not quite," the aid said. "Though the Baron could not be here, he sent a message also, through this man." A tall, handsome man by the name of Frederick walked up. "The troops still watching?" Frederick asked jovially. Mel'kat nodded. "Then let's start, shall we?" He waved his hand, and an image of Andreas sprang up, his voice able to be heard by all assembled.
“My loyal subjects. You are all here because you wish to serve your country and Baron, an honourable and noble cause. But today I will tell you why we entered this war, that you may know we fight for something far larger than ourselves. We did not enter this war for gold or jewels, for human greed or arrogance. We entered this war not for pride or vanity, or as a show of force – instead, we entered this war for two clear reasons. The first is for Freedom of National Expression. We are a Soverign Nation and we should have complete Liberty in our actions except where that action conflicts with the Liberty of another Soverign Nation. And there are those who would wish to oppress us, to impose our liberty! These people must be shown that Shirithians will not stand for oppression by anyone but the Kaiser, Steward and/or Landsraad!
The second reason is, in my mind, even greater – we fight for History. There are those who feel that it matters not how old a nation is, it matters not how many centuries of history are embedded in a land, they may use it for whatever they wish and deny the ancient right and inalienable rights of History! We know better, don’t we! History is not dead – we are living it now, and we are willing to fight for our historical right! This is why we entered the war ...
But there is another reason we stay in. From Yardistan, the call goes up. Those near the Steward have heard a great plea. We have discovered that the King who would oppress our rights oppresses those of his own people even more. He is fanatical, war crazed and suicidal, willing to blinding kill himself and order his men to their deaths without a second thought! For the sake of the people of Bosworth, we must liberate these people from oppression. “Liberty and Life!†shall be the catch-cry of the Shirithian forces. “Liberty and Life!†we shall bring to those oppressed in Bosworth! Some of you may die, I know that. But you are a far cry from those sent unwilling to their failure, ordered to suicide and attempting to oppress a nation ten times their size. There is no nation greater than Shireroth, and when we desire to fight for Right, none shall stand in our way. Those of you who survive will all gain a place of honour at my table, and those who die will be remembered forever in the pages of History, and who could ask for greater than that! Go forth my people, and may Sakat always be with you!â€Â
There was a pause, and then Andreas continued to speak. “Appendix A – A Classical Liberal Approach to Nationali ...â€Â
Frederick waved his hand and the image of Andreas disappeared. “I don’t think you need to listen to that bit ... anyway, good luck, have a fun time.â€Â
Mel’Kat nodded at Frederick as he left. Just at that moment, Kel-Jar came running into the room. “I’m ready to record the message for the history books!†he puffed.
“I’m afraid it’s already played,†Mel’Kat replied. “But don’t worry ... knowing Andreas, there will be plenty more rousing speeches to come. Cast off!†he finished in a loud voice to the crew. As the Atterock Navy began to sail away, there seemed, for a moment, to be a tentacle that rose out of the water as if to greet. Then it sunk beneath the waves and was no more.

Somewhere in an army tent:
Short summary: Alfa Tankunit and Ingelburgse Regiment are on the border between Batavië and Bosworth. Jeroen has asked for medical supply's to cope with civillian casulties."Damn you!", Jeroen shouts to his Sergeant. "I told you to request for medical supply's not more ammunition." The sergeant turns white and Jeroen dismisses him. He sighs for a second and then picks up a red phone which is in direct contact with the Prime Minister.
"Jonas here." the prime minister answers his phone just in time.
"Look Jonas, we need medical supply's to help the civillians in Bosworth after we launch our strike." it remains silent on the phone for a minute or so and then Jonas says, "General, we don't have to many reserves left. I am not sure if it's su.." he is interupted by Jeroen, "Look Minister, send me the supply's." and he throws the phone on the hook.
Suddenly Jonas calls Colonel Ramon de Lage with him and begins to speak. "Ramon, I want you and your men to advance to the absolute border. I want you to be on the border ready to invade on my command. Take the Alfa tank unit and the Ingelburgse Regiment and be ready for anything. Understood?" the Colonel saluts and nods, "Aye Sir." and he leaves the tent.

Lt. Jacobs of the marine contingent on board the the Kaiser Mors V had been harrassing O'Keefe for the last two days.
"There is no sign of resistance from La Roche, Capt O'Keefe! Shouldn't we reconnoitre, and occupy the city?"
"There is not much city left, lieutenant."
"But there are people. Based on what we heard from Brookshire, they will be in dire straits."
"Fine. you are right. Launch a chopper, and follow it in with the second squad. And a medical contingent," replied the Captain.
Jacobs was quick, and soon he was on the helicopter headed for the city.
"Look!" called the pilot, a man waiving a sheet!"
"It looks like Capt. O'Keefe has that white flag he was looking for," said Jacobs. "Set her down close, but keep the rotors going in case it's a trap. You two, " he called into the back of the machine, "With me!"
Jacobs and the two marines ran toward the man. As he approached, the fellow, smiled, and stumbled forward with his arms outstretched. Several older women stood in back of him, tears streaming down their cheeks.
"Lieutenant, my name is Dennis Moore. In the name of the People's Republic of Gascony, I surrender the city of La Roche Derrien. The Provisional Soviet begs your help in freeing our country from the Bosworthian occupation!"
Jacobs smiled. "You need medical attention. Will you come with me?"
"No, said Moore, I remain here with my people."
"Very well," replied Jacobs, "We are establishing a field hospital. I accept the surrender of the city, " he said with a smile and a wink.

Less than an hour later, the launches from the KMV arrived. People were streaming into the Yardistani perimiter. After being searched for weapons (three pitchforks, a rusty revolver, two flintlocks and assorted knives) the field kitchen began to feed anyone who asked, and a few who couldn't.
The field hospital did a brisk business. O'Keefe had sent three more squads, and two of these began to seach the rubble for survivors.
After getting a meal, and his leg attended to, Moore sat up a box to serve as a desk in a tent. He hung a sign in front of it that read "Provisional Government, Peoples Republic of Gascony". He'd found a red tablecloth in the ruins of a nearby restaurant, and hung it from the tentpole as a flag.

OOC: JUDGE the gentleman claiming to be running a communist uprising is neither a citizen of our nation nor even allowed access to the forum consider he's been banned for being underhanded. As such i intend to ignore all mentions of communism, especially since anyone who has any idea of Gascon history on Micras will know the Gascons are former New Brittanians.
