FMF Executive changes
In somewhat of an inevitability, following on from my resignation as MCS Administrator-General earlier this year, I have also now officially handed over the reins of the FMF to Barnaby! Having essentially organised the majority of the FMF's competitions in recent years, as well as his vast involvement in individual member nations' domestic leagues, he is the perfect person to which I hand over Micras' oldest existing sporting federation.
In my new, reduced role, Barnaby has asked me to stay on as FMF Vice-President, which the Executives have approved with a private majority vote. I am more than happy to remain playing a part in the FMF, after over 16 years' involvement already, without the challenge of heading the organisation!
The FMF Executives have also voted in a majority to remove Nikola from the role of WMFA President. We thank Niko for his multiple years' service to, and passion for, Micrasian football, but it was believed by the Executives that his documented departure from the community as a whole was grounds to replace him in this position. As such, Clovis has been promoted from his Junior role to that of WMFA President - his fantastic work on the wiki pertaining to World Cup finals as our Junior puts him in great stead for having full voting rights in future footballing decisions due to his clear interest in the FMF. This now means our Junior position is again vacant and we will be looking to fill this shortly - the process of which will begin in the coming days with sights on completion before the 2023-24 season is organised.
One final change regards the non-executive officers in the FMF Committee. These three positions (Club Competitions Officer, International Competitions Officer and Statistics Officer) will from hereon be made redundant, due in most part to their being held primarily by full Executives already, one of which has been removed from his voting position too. This change does, however, ultimately bring to an end the official involvement in the FMF of its original founder Hieu. After spells as President and Vice-President, Hieu's reduction of involvement in the Micras community - ultimately coming to a full departure in 2015 - led to his holding of the nominal International Competitions position, which was maintained to honour his standing in FMF history. Despite his lack of involvement for the last eight years, we are of course all eternally grateful for his concept which has grown from strength to strength from its beginnings back in 2006 to change the landscape of much of the community's focus.
Applications for the Junior vacancy will be opened tomorrow, so any interested individuals should prepare their convincing points soon, and it has been an absolute pleasure to have been in charge of this institution for such a long and fruitful time. Barnaby, it's over to you!
